CocoBed© Equine Bedding

Bedding made from coconut fibre, highly absorbent, low-dust and naturally odour-controlling. Healthier stables, faster mucking out, and every barrow-load goes straight to compost.

Why CocoBed

What your stable gains.

Seriously absorbent

Coco fibre soaks up moisture fast and holds it, keeping the bed surface drier and horses cleaner overnight.

Low dust, easy breathing

Far less dust than shavings or straw, kinder to sensitive airways, and a real difference for horses prone to coughs.

Natural odour control

Coco fibre binds ammonia naturally, so stables smell fresher without sprays or additives.

Faster mucking out

Wet spots and droppings lift cleanly, so daily mucking takes less time and wastes less bedding.

Gentle on hooves & skin

A soft, supportive bed that cushions joints and stays comfortable, with no sharp splinters or harsh oils.

100% compostable

Used bedding breaks down into rich compost, a resource for your paddocks and gardens instead of a disposal problem.

Using CocoBed

Simple to start, easy to keep.

Switching bedding shouldn't be a project. CocoBed sets up quickly and settles into an easy daily routine.

  • Set the bed: lay CocoBed to your preferred depth and lightly loosen, it fluffs into a soft, even bed.
  • Daily care: remove droppings and lift wet patches; the surrounding bedding stays clean and dry.
  • Top up as needed: add fresh CocoBed periodically rather than replacing the whole bed.
  • Compost the waste: everything you remove breaks down naturally, no burning, no landfill runs.
Product specifications: bale size, coverage per stable and recommended bed depth to be confirmed. (Client to supply standard figures for this section.)
Good to know

CocoBed questions, answered.

How does CocoBed compare to shavings or straw?

It absorbs more, dusts less and controls odour naturally, and unlike straw, horses rarely eat it. Many yards also find they use less bedding overall because only the wet material is removed. Ask us for a side-by-side comparison for your yard.

Is it safe if my horse nibbles it?

CocoBed is a natural plant fibre with no chemical treatments. Most horses show no interest in eating it, one of its advantages over edible beddings like straw.

Is it suitable for horses with respiratory issues?

Low-dust bedding is one of the first recommendations for horses with sensitive airways, and CocoBed is significantly lower in dust than traditional options. Always follow your vet's guidance for a diagnosed condition.

What do I do with the used bedding?

Compost it. Coco fibre breaks down into excellent organic matter, many clients use it on paddocks, gardens or sell it on. It turns a disposal cost into a resource.
